Inquire

The Archiv Charlotte Posenenske presentation brings together three artists who, in the 1960s, began to question not only the artwork itself, but the conditions of its medium—its authorship, its presence, and its meaning.

Charlotte Posenenske approached sculpture as an open system. Working with industrial materials, she developed modular forms that could be rearranged and reconfigured, shifting the medium of sculpture away from permanence toward activation.

Joseph Kosuth extended this inquiry into the medium of language. His work treats art as a proposition, where meaning is produced through linguistic structures rather than visual representation.

Peter Roehr reduced the visual medium to sequences of repetition. Through montages of found imagery, he exposed patterns and variations that underlie everyday visual culture.

Placed in dialogue, their practices form a precise constellation. Rather than offering a historical survey, the presentation reflects on how different mediums—sculptural, linguistic, and visual—can be redefined to shape perception and experience.
